While this Samsung commercial pokes fun at iPhone users for sitting in line for hours waiting on the new iPhone, this actually delivers a level of clarity. The next big things are happening without Apple. Look no further than the massive screen devices LG, Samsung, Motorola, and other manufactures have delivered over the last 12+ months. Android is not alone, Windows Phone is now getting its round of 4+ inch screen devices and the rumored BlackBerry London also follows suite. Additionally, the speeds of LTE are outstanding. When you compare the iPhone 4S to an LTE device it is like comparing Usain Bolt to a toddler in a sprint.
The iPhone is starting to show its age. The Galaxy Nexus with Ice Cream Sandwich, massive screen, and 4G LTE speed is a clear winner for this holiday, unless you buy into the Amazon Penny Phone sale.

If you look at the current crop of Android tablets on the market you could easily assume that Apple’s iPad 2 has absolutely nothing to worry about by way of competition. Amazon’s upcoming Kindle Fire, however, my turn that assumption on it’s head.
According to a survey published by electronics shopping guide Retrevo.com, the Kindle Fire is on more consumers shopping list than is the iPad 2.

The DROID BIONIC by Motorola has been on the market for just about two weeks. Our full review is coming shortly, but, we did want to post the hardware specs for this puppy. I think that it is safe to say that the DROID BIONIC is definitely the most powerful smartphone offered by Verizon and arguably, the most advanced Android phone available on the market…

Along with opening up Google+ to everyone and several other new features, Google updated the Google+ for Android app with some pretty nifty new features including the ability to join Hangouts from Android 2.3 devices with front facing cameras.
In life we connect with others in all sorts of places, at all different times. And the connections you make unexpectedly are often the ones you remember the most. We think Hangouts should keep pace with how you socialize in the real-world, so today we’re launching it on the one device that’s always by your side: your mobile phone. To get started, simply find an active hangout in the Stream, and tap “Join”.
For the time being, it looks like you can only join a Hangout that was started by someone in Google+ via their desktop. I can only imagine that Google will implement the ability to start a Hangout via your mobile device eventually and we hope that this ability comes sooner rather than later.

As you may have already heard, it was discovered last week that Skype for Android had a, for lack of a better word, gaping hole in security that let malicious third-party applications access personal information on your device. A new version of Skype for Android was released today, v1.0.0.983, that address this security vulnerability, however, the big to d0 in the new version of Skype for Android is the addition of 3G voice calls in the US, a feature that Verizon users have had for over a year…

For the past week or so, rumors that the Motorola Droid Bionic is being cancelled, have been floating around the web. Announced back in January at CES, the Droid Bionic, with its 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, Android Froyo 2.2, a 4.3″ qHD display, 512 MB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear facing camera as well as a VGA front facing camera, and support for Verizon’s ridiculously fast 4G LTE network, was the, if not, one of the most highly anticipated Android devices coming to Verizon.
